Reading & appearance
Everything on this page is a reading preference. It changes how the wiki looks for you, on this browser — it never changes a page, and other readers see their own choice. Nothing here needs an account.
The controls live in two places, by what they affect:
- Site settings — the theme and the page layout — behind the ⋮ button in the top bar, just left of your account menu (and mirrored in a Site settings panel in the right-hand column on wide screens).
- Wiki settings — how you read the articles themselves: wikilink colour, notes and references — behind the big button at the right end of every page title (and mirrored in a Wiki settings panel at the top of the right-hand column).
Both panels can be shown or hidden from the Layout switches; the ⋮ button and the title button are always there.
Theme

Your choice is remembered on that device.
Dark mode
There isn't one yet. It's built but switched off while we get article colours right for it — infoboxes, navboxes and banners are coloured by whoever wrote the page, and today that's almost always against a white background, so a dark page would still be full of bright boxes. We'd rather ship it once it reads properly.
Links
Wikilinks can be shown in one of two colours:

| Gray | A subtle warm grey, so a page full of links doesn't pull your eye off the prose. |
Either way, pointing at a link underlines it, and a link the page author gave a colour to — with {{Colorlink}}, or by wrapping it in a coloured <span> — keeps that colour.
Times & dates
Every timestamp — page histories, recent changes, a page's "last edited" line — is shown in your own timezone, worked out from your browser, with the coordinated time (UTC) shown next to it so two readers in different places can still point at exactly the same moment.
View
A set of on/off switches for what shows around the article. Notes and References live under Wiki settings (the title button); the rest are Layout switches under the ⋮ menu:

These are site-wide: set once and every article follows. If a switch has no effect on the page you're looking at — no references, say — it tells you so underneath.
Where your choices are kept
In your browser, on the device you set them. They aren't tied to your account, so they don't follow you to another computer, and clearing your browser data resets them. They're applied before the page is drawn, so you won't see a flash of the wrong theme.
